Petri FT 1000

The Petri FT 1000 is an SLR camera. The 35mm camera is a product of the Japanese company Petri. A similar model is the FT 500, but it lacks the self-timer and the shortest exposure time is only 1/500 second.

The Petri FT 1000 offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. It comes with an M42 thread. In most cases, you will encounter the Petri 55mm f/1.7 on the 35mm camera. The Petri FT 1000 does not have an autofocus function. The focus is adjusted by hand.

The M42 thread used to be very common, so there are many lenses for this thread. The M42 thread is the successor of the M39 mount. Zeiss, KMZ, Voigtländer, Pentacon and Pentax were among the manufacturers of M42 interchangeable lenses.

For measuring exposure, the Petri FT 1000 has a light meter. The light meter was built for films with a sensitivity of ISO 25 to ISO 1600. The SLR determines the correct exposure when metering through the lens (TTL). Both the desired aperture and the shutter speed can be set by the user.

The 35mm camera comes with a Bulb setting option. In this mode, the film is exposed as long as the shutter button is pressed. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe.

The Petri FT 1000 has a built-in self-timer. It also comes with a connection for a cable release and tripod.
