The Impossible Project PX 680 Color Protection

The PX 680 Color Protection is an instant film. It was introduced by Impossible in September 2012.

With the previous Impossible films, you had to immediately protect the image from the light after it ejected from the camera. This has been fixed with the PX 680 Color Protection, so it is possible to take pictures with it as you know it from the old Polaroid films.

You have to pay for this feature with a longer development time of around 30 to 40 minutes. But you get rich colors with a high degree of sharpness and details even after the development time.

The PX 680 Color Protection is designed for the old Polaroid 600 cameras. With an ND filter, it can also be used in a Polaroid SX-70, but there is also a suitable film for these camera models with the PX 70 CP, without the need for a filter.

The power for the camera and possibly a flash comes from a battery in the film pack.

In one pack of instant film there is a film pack with which you can take eight pictures. This means that if the film counter on the camera indicates that you can still take two pictures, this means that the film is empty.

The unused film should be stored at 5-10 degrees in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer. Before use, it should be allowed to adjust to room temperature for at least an hour.

In December 2012, Color Protection was available in two Holiday Packs. Once three packs and once five packs with 8 pictures each. The whole thing could be bought in a wintery package.

Update

Impossible has since replaced this film with a new film. The most current 600 color film is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. It is newly produced and based on the latest development of the manufacturer. It is sold again under the legendary photo brand.
