The Impossible Project PX 600 Silver Shade UV+

The PX 600 Silver Shade UV+ is a black and white instant film. It is manufactured by The Impossible Project in Enschede for Polaroid 600 camera.

The PX 600 Silver Shade UV+ is the improved version of the PX 600 Silver Shade. The UV filter provides better blacks of the black and white material. Impossible were assisted in the development of the film by B&W specialists Harman Technology. Harman Technology is behind the popular Ilford films. After a development period of three years, the material was presented.

Depending on the temperature, the results can vary. At cold temperatures, the photo becomes very bright and low in contrast, and at hot temperatures, very high-contrast, dark images with a reddish, orange and yellowish tint are formed. The most balanced results are obtained at an average room temperature of 17-24°C.

After photographing, the image should be immediately protected from light. By using an ND filter, this film can also be used in Polaroid SX-70 cameras. But you can also use the PX 100 Silver Shade.

Like all Polaroid 600 films, the film pack has a built-in battery, it powers the camera and flash. One pack contains eight pictures. The frames around the pictures are white.

PX 600 Silver Shade UV+ makes black and white photography possible with Polaroid 600 cameras. It can be used in all cameras for this format. The film is good for artistic shots, but also for pictures at parties or at a wedding.

Update

This film has since been replaced by a new generation. The latest generation of black and white film for this format is the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. This film delivers much better images and is much more stable in handling. In addition, there are some editions of the film with differently designed frames.
