Samsung ECX 2

The Samsung ECX 2 is a 35mm camera from the Korean company Samsung. It is the successor of the Samsung ECX 1, but compared to the 1, it is a bit more compact.

The Samsung ECX 2 comes with a lens that cannot be changed. The name of the lens is “Schneider-Kreuznach Varioplan 38-140 mm Super Macro”. The zoom range of the lens is 38 mm to 140 mm and the maximum aperture is f/3.8 at 38 mm. The 35 mm camera is equipped with autofocus. The closest focusing distance is 60 cm.

The Samsung ECX 2 has a built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range of 50 to 3200. The camera determines the correct sensitivity of the film via the DX code. Exposure settings are automatically determined by the camera.

The camera comes with a Bulb mode. This allows the shutter to remain open for a variable amount of time to expose the film. There is a built-in flash for shooting in low light, this ensures clear shots. A self-timer is available.

Films for the Samsung ECX 2

The Samsung ECX 2 is a 35mm camera and requires 35mm films. These are still easy to get today and are still being developed. For black and white images in 35mm format, the AgfaPhoto APX 400* is a good choice. For color images, you can go for the Kodak Ultramax 400*.

Color film is a color negative film and is developed using the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab. For example, you can hand in your films for development at many drugstores in Germany.

The negatives of the 35mm camera have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. With the panorama function, two bars slide into the image and change the aspect ratio to 13 x 36 mm. The film transport is automatic. Also the winding when inserting the film into the camera works automatically.
