The Samsung Evoca 90W Neo is a snapshot camera. The 35mm camera was built by Samsung. Under the name “Samsung Vega 290W” the 35mm camera was also offered.
The camera comes with a fixed lens. The zoom range is from 28 to 90 mm and the maximum aperture is f/4.5 at 28 mm. The manufacturer’s designation of the lens is “Samsung Schneider-Kreuznach Varioplan 28-90 mm Auto Macro”. You don’t have to focus manually with this 35mm camera. The Samsung Evoca 90W Neo has an auto focus.
The Samsung Evoca 90W Neo has an exposure meter for taking pictures. The exposure meter is designed for 35mm film from ISO 50 to ISO 3200. The correct ISO value is read out by the DX code on the film cartridge and the exposure meter is set accordingly. The exposure settings are automatically adjusted by the Samsung Evoca 90W Neo.
A bulb setting is available on the Samsung Evoca 90W Neo. This allows the shutter to remain open for a variable time and expose the film. The maximum shutter speed in this mode is 60 seconds.
A flash is built in for low-light pictures. The power at ISO 100 is 5.3 meters at 28 mm according to the operating instructions. The flash is fully charged again after about eight seconds. The Samsung Evoca 90W Neo has a built-in self-timer and a thread for a tripod.
The compact camera measures 11.6 x 6.5 x 4.3 cm. It weighs 250 grams. The camera requires a CR123A battery (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Samsung Evoca 90W Neo
According to the manual, the Samsung Evoca 90W Neo requires 35mm film. These films are still in production and can be obtained from almost every supplier of development work. Possible films for the Samsung Evoca 90W Neo are Kodak Portra 400* for color photos and Ilford XP2 Super* for black and white photos.
With the size of the exposure range, a normal film (135-36) usually holds 36 photos. The film transport is automatic. The photographer does not have to rewind it.
In panorama mode, the camera moves two bars into the picture, creating the illusion of a panorama.
The Samsung Evoca 90W Neo can only be found used. The state of preservation and functionality determine the price of the camera.
