The Praktica DTL 2 is a SLR camera for 35mm films. It was built by Pentacon from 1978 to 1979.
The lenses of Praktica DTL 2 can be exchanged. Lenses with an M42 thread can be used with the camera. The M42 thread is a common lens mount. You have to focus the lens by hand. The 35 mm camera does not have an autofocus function.
The camera comes with an exposure meter. The exposure measurement is performed through the lens. The aperture and shutter speed can be individually configured. The photo camera comes with a bulb mode. In this mode, the film is exposed as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash device can be fired via the built-in hot shoe.
Films for the Praktica DTL 2
The Praktica DTL 2 exposes 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced by different producers. One option for b/w images is the Kodak T-Max 400*. A possible film for color pictures is the Agfaphoto Vista 200*.
The Praktica DTL 2 has a thread for a tripod. It can be triggered by self-timer or by cable release. The needed energy for the camera is provided by one VARTA V21 PX battery.
The Praktica DTL 2 is no longer in production. Depending on the state of the camera, the price for a used copy vary.
