The Porst Superflex 1000 C is a SLR camera. It was presented by Porst in the 60s. It was built by the Japanese company Mamiya. In 1968, Photo Porst demanded around 800 D-Mark for a new camera.
The Porst Superflex 1000 C comes with interchangeable lenses. Lenses with an M42 thread can be used. In most cases it was sold with the car Mamiya Sekor 1:1,8/55. Additionally on offer was a 28 mm wide angle and a 135 mm telephoto lens. For both lenses one had to put around 200 D-Mark each on the table.
The M42 thread is standardized and manufacturer-independent, so there is a large range of lenses. The lens thread was developed by Carl Zeiss in Jena in 1938. Major manufacturers of M42 interchangeable lenses included Pentax, Pentacon, Zenit/KMZ and Zeiss. The lens is focused by hand. The model does not have an autofocus function.
The 35 mm camera has a built-in sensor for measuring the precise exposure. The exposure is measured through the lens of the 35mm camera (TTL). The exposure time can be set manually. The aperture is also freely selectable.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. In this mode, the shutter will open as long as the shutter release button is pressed. The use of an external flash unit is possible via the PC flash socket. If you like, you can use the built-in self-timer or a separate cable release to trigger the Porst Superflex 1000 C. The possibility of using a tripod provides the necessary stability.
The dimensions of the 35mm camera are 14,5 x 10 x 6 cm. The weight of the Porst Superflex 1000 C is 730 g.
Films for the Porst Superflex 1000 C
The Porst Superflex 1000 C uses 35mm film. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore, some manufacturers still produce for this format. A 35mm film for color pictures is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the AgfaPhoto APX 100*.
The color negative film is developed in the C-41 development process. This development process is offered by most laboratories.
The Porst Superflex 1000 C exposes an area of 24 mm x 36 mm. With a normal 35mm film (135-36) usually 36 photos are possible at this size. The photographer has to rewind the film manually.
Production of the model was terminated and today you can only buy it used. The price for a used copy depends on the condition.
