The Polaroid Onyx is an instant camera for the ImageSpectra format. It is a “limited edition” of the Polaroid SpectraPolaroid Image.
The camera’s range of functions is identical to the models mentioned above, but the Onyx’s housing is transparent and gives a clear view of the camera’s electronics. Nevertheless, pictures can be taken normally with the Polaroid Onyx. The films needed for this are now manufactured by Impossible.
The current film for color pictures is the Polaroid Originals Color Film for Image & Spectra*. If you want to take black and white pictures, you need the Polaroid Originals B&W Film for Image & Spectra*. In a package there is a cassette with eight pictures. The battery for the camera and the built-in flash is also in the film cassette.
The camera comes with a Quintic Lens. The lens has a fixed focal length of 125 mm and a maximum aperture of f10. The camera sets the exposure automatically. Focusing is automatic with the help of ultrasound. The closest focusing distance is 0.6 meters. A self-timer is available on the Onyx.
