The Lucky 100 HC is a slide film. It was offered by the Chinese company China Lucky Film Corporation from Baoding in the 1990s. Lucky is mainly known for color negative and black and white films.

The Lucky 100 HC is a reversal film for color slides that has a light sensitivity of ISO 100. This sensitivity makes it ideal for shooting during vacations or sunny weather. The film delivers excellent results in such conditions, allowing you to capture vivid colors and fine details.

Exposure of expired slide film

If you find the Lucky 100 HC film today, there is a chance that it has already expired. However, it is important to note that the expiration date is only an indication of quality and the film stock can still be used. However, older film stock may experience a reduction in sensitivity to light. In addition to the age of the film, the way it is stored also plays an important role.

To prevent possible underexposure when taking pictures, it can be helpful to set the camera’s exposure meter to a lower value. This will adjust the exposure and compensate for potential problems due to decreasing sensitivity.

The quality of the film can also be affected by the way it has been stored. Properly storing the film in a cool, dry environment can help maintain its performance. It is therefore advisable to store the film in the best possible way to minimize possible deterioration.

Development of the Lucky 100 HC

The Lucky 100 HC color film requires development using the E6 process, which is specifically designed for developing color slides. This development process is standardized and offered by many photo labs. After the slides are developed, they can be framed, for example, and then projected on the wall with a slide projector.

Framing the slides provides a way to protect them and present them in an attractive presentation. Using a slide projector allows the slides to be viewed in a larger format and projected onto a screen or projection surface. This makes it possible to share the photographs with others or present them in a special context, such as at events or in a cozy home theater atmosphere.

It should be noted that development in the E6 process and projection of the slides require specific techniques. It may be helpful to consult experienced photo labs or appropriate guides to achieve optimal results.

Availability and alternatives

The 100 HC was available as 35mm film. You could take 36 shots with one roll of film. The film cartridge was marked with a DX code. Leica, Nikon and Fujifilm are some of the manufacturers that offer suitable cameras for the 35mm format.

The film is no longer in production. The Fujifilm Provia 100F* could be a replacement for 35mm film.
