The Lomo’Instant Murano is the first Special Edition of the Lomo’Instant, introduced by Lomography in 2017.
It is named after Murano (Muran in Venetian). Murano is a group of islands northeast of Venice, famous for its glass art. The design of this Lomo’Instant Edition is very colorful and immediately brings to mind another island in the Venice lagoon, Burano. The fishing island of Burano is a popular tourist destination and photo subject due to the many colorful houses.
The Lomo’Instant Murano has no differences from other editions of the instant camera in terms of features. This means that like its sister models, it also offers interchangeable lenses and the possibility for multiple exposures. In addition, the camera has a flash that provides good illumination of the pictures. On the front of the camera is a small mirror that is specifically designed for selfies and helps the user take pictures.
The Fujifilm Instax Mini instant films (Instax Mini Film*) are required for taking pictures with the Lomography camera. They are not included and must be purchased separately. There are ten pictures in a film cassette. Unlike Polaroid films, there is no battery in the plastic cassette.
Each picture is about the size of a credit card. It is surrounded by a white frame. The frame can be decorated or written on as desired. The format is best for portrait format shots, such as portraits and selfies.
Besides the Lomo’Instant Murano, there are many other Special Editions of the instant camera, such as the Lomo’Instant Sanremo, Honolulu, Montenegro, Boston, Kyoto, Havana, Lake Tahoe, Marrakesh, Milano, Mumbai and Reykjavik.
