The La Sardina – ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ was launched in February 2012 by Lomography, in collaboration with the US state of Virginia. Together with the American state, some competitions will be held in 2012.

The limited edition is wrapped in classic red, black and white. On this Special Edition La Sardina, hearts, a mouth and the tourism slogan, ‘Virginia is for Lovers’, of Virginia are printed on the plastic case.

The La Sardina’s 22mm plastic lens has a fixed aperture of f8 and is a super wide angle lens. The switch on the top of the snapshot camera allows for easy multiple exposures. Long exposures are possible with the Bulb mode. The camera also has a port for a remote shutter release and for a tripod.

With this consists La Sardina is available with and without flash. Fritz the Blitz comes with 3 distance settings and four different color filters.

Only a limited number of this Special Edition were made.

Films for the La Sardina – ‘Virginia is for Lovers’

The La Sardina – ‘Virginia is for Lovers’ is fed with 35mm films (eBay / Amazon*), whether Redscale, color negative film, slide film or black and white film does not matter. The number of pictures taken is indicated by the film counter.

Recommended for color pictures with this camera is Fujifilm Superia 400*, while for B&W pictures Kodak T-Max 400* is recommended. Both films deliver solid results and convince in test reports. Of course, there is a wide range of additionally suitable films for this camera.

The color film is developed in the C-41 process. In most photo labs, it is possible to perform the C-41 process. An option for developing color films is offered by various large drugstore chains in Germany. These also directly create prints from the photos taken.

The black and white film comes in a developer such as Rodinal or D-76. This type of development is also offered by many photo labs.
