The La Sardina TIFF is a limited edition camera. It was created under the TIFF brand and has the same functions as the normal La Sardina from Lomography. It was probably offered from 2014 onwards. Probably only locally at TIFF.
It has a striking design with a beige casing and a city map pattern. The city map shows street names such as “King Street”, “Richmond”, “John Street” and “Yonge Street”. A red pin marks a specific point on the map.
Camera functions
The La Sardina TIFF is equipped with a fixed 22mm lens that offers a maximum aperture of f/8. Focusing is manual, with the minimum focusing distance being 60 cm.
The camera has no exposure metering and only offers a shutter speed and a bulb mode.
Other features include a tripod thread, a cable release connection and a hot shoe called “Fritz the Blitz”.
The camera is completely mechanical and does not require batteries.
Films for the La Sardina TIFF
The La Sardina TIFF uses standard 35mm films that can be developed by most photo labs. Recommended films include Kodak Gold 200* for color images and Kentmere 100* for black and white photos.
Color films are developed using the C-41 process, which is offered by almost all photo labs. Black and white films require a suitable black and white developer.
The negatives of the Lomography camera have a format of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is transported manually using a wheel, and at the end of the roll the film must be rewound by hand. Important: The back panel must not be opened until the film has been completely rewound.

TIFF is a Canadian company that specializes in art and culture. It operates the TIFF Bell Lightbox, a film culture centre in Toronto, and hosts the annual Toronto International Film Festival. Although TIFF does not manufacture cameras, it sells a range of products in its stores, including cameras such as Lomography’s La Sardina.
