The Fujica Flash AF is a viewfinder camera with autofocus. The 35mm camera is the successor of the Fujica Flash (Date). The camera was announced to Photokina 1978 by Fuji in response to the Konica C35 AF.

The Fujica Flash AF lens cannot be replaced. The lens has a focal length of 38 mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8 The lens is called “Fuji Photo Film Fujinon 1:2.8 f=38mm”.

An autofocus system was installed in the Fujica Flash AF for focusing the lens. An earlier version of the Visitronic Autofocus System was used. This was patented by the American company Honeywell in the mid-1970s. In 1977, it was used for the aforementioned Konica C35 AF.

The Fujica Flash AF Date offers the possibility of exposing the date of recording into the images. Both models come with a built-in flash.

Films for the Fujica Flash AF

The Fujica Flash AF exposes 35mm film. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore, some manufacturers still produce for this format. A good choice for color and black-and-white pictures is the Agfaphoto Vista 200* and the Ilford FP4 Plus*.

The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab. As a rule, 36 shots are possible per film (135-36) at this negative size. There is no automatic film transport. The film must be winded by hand.

The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
