The Fomapan R100 presents itself as a specialised black and white film that occupies a unique place in Foma’s product range as it serves as the sole reversal film in their range. This feature allows users to create direct positives, a characteristic that sets it apart from conventional negative films.
In the context of photography and film production, getting positives immediately after development is a unique feature, instead of the usual process of first creating a negative.
The Fomapan R100 is equipped with a light sensitivity of ISO 100, a standard sensitivity that provides sufficient flexibility for different lighting conditions, while ensuring a certain level of fine grain.
For the correct development of the film, Foma provides a specially designed black and white slide kit. The development process, referred to as the R-100 process, is a carefully designed sequence of 12 steps. This sequence takes the user through different stages to eventually obtain a finished black and white slide.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Fomapan R100 is available in a variety of formats, making it suitable for a wide range of cameras. Not only is it available for popular 35mm cameras, but also for 35mm, 8mm, Super 8 and 16mm film cameras.
This diversity in formats allows photographers and filmmakers to choose film according to the specific requirements of their projects. Whether capturing images with a traditional camera or producing footage with dedicated film cameras, the Fomapan R100 provides a versatile option.
The film is produced by FOMA BOHEMIA spol. s r.o. in Czech Republic.
