Differences between the Polaroid Now models

The Polaroid Now and Polaroid Now+ are both instant cameras that utilize Polaroid’s iconic square format. Both models use i-Type film, which is specifically designed for the newer Polaroid cameras and does not require a battery in the film. The cameras are easy to use and offer features such as autofocus and self-timer.

How do the Polaroid Now models differ?

Similarities

Both cameras are easy to use, making them ideal for beginners and casual photographers. They have autofocus to ensure sharp images and a self-timer for group photos or self-portraits. A built-in flash ensures that good shots are possible even in poor lighting conditions. Both models come with a built-in battery.

Another common feature is the dual focal length lens (standard and close-up), which is automatically selected depending on the subject. Both models also support double exposures, a creative feature that allows two images to be combined on a single film.

Differences

The main difference between the Polaroid Now and the Polaroid Now+ is connectivity and creative possibilities. The Polaroid Now+ has Bluetooth, which allows it to be connected to the Polaroid app. This app opens up a variety of features such as manual exposure settings, light painting and various creative shooting modes. The Polaroid Now, on the other hand, does not offer these advanced features and focuses on ease of use and the classic Polaroid experience.

2. Generation

With the launch of the second generation in 2023, some improvements have been made. The new models feature a USB-C port for charging and slightly improved battery life. The Polaroid Now+ Gen 2 also comes with a set of five clip-on filters that offer additional creative possibilities. However, the basic functions and functionality of the cameras remain the same.

Films

Both Polaroid Now models are compatible with the i-Type film, which is available in different variants such as color, black and white and special editions. Additionally, you can also use the 600 film, but it contains an integrated battery and is therefore not as environmentally friendly as the i-Type film. The 600 film is often more expensive and is mainly used for older Polaroid cameras.

For color images, the Polaroid Color Film for i-Type* is a good choice. If you prefer to take monochrome photos, you can easily buy the Polaroid B&W Film for i-Type* online. There are eight images in a film cassette.
