The Polaroid Now Gen 2 / Polaroid Now Generation 2 is a modern instant camera. It was presented in 2023 and produced by the company that took over the factory in the Netherlands after the bankruptcy of the American cult brand Polaroid.
The 2nd generation of the Polaroid Now has remained almost the same in terms of functionality. The biggest innovation is the change to the USB port for charging the camera. So we switched from a micro USB port to the more modern USB-C port.
Designs
The Polaroid Now 2nd Generation is available in different colors. When it comes to colors, you can choose between a completely black camera. There are also models with white-black, red-white and blue-white housing. There are also always limited editions of Polaroid cameras.
Functions of the Polaroid Now Gen2
The Polaroid Now Gen2 is a modern interpretation of the classic instant camera. It combines nostalgic design with contemporary features to provide an intuitive and user-friendly experience.
The camera has autofocus to ensure sharp images, as well as a double exposure function to achieve creative effects. The integrated flash ensures well-lit photos even in poor lighting conditions.
A self-timer allows the user to become part of the image. The Polaroid Now Gen2 is equipped with a rechargeable battery that charges via USB-C.
Films for the instant camera
The Polaroid Now Gen2 uses i-Type films that were specifically developed for this generation of cameras. These films are available in a variety of versions, including color, black and white, and special editions with colorful frames. The current color film is Polaroid Color Film for i-Type*. There are eight images in a film cassette.
The i-Type films are designed to develop a physical photo within minutes of capture. The images are characterized by their characteristic Polaroid look with slightly washed out colors and a white frame.
In addition, Polaroid 600 films can also be exposed. This type of film is the same size and is necessary for the old Polaroid cameras. The film cassette contains a disposable battery. This is not necessary for modern Polaroid cameras, so you should use the i-Type films.
Differences to the Polaroid Now+
The Polaroid Now Gen2 is a simplified version of the Polaroid Now+. Unlike the Now+, the Gen2 does not have Bluetooth connectivity or app control. It also doesn’t offer the advanced manual settings of the Now+, such as aperture priority or manual focus. The Polaroid Now Gen2 focuses on the essential features of an instant camera and offers a straightforward user experience.
More color variants
In September 2024, two new color versions of the instant camera were introduced. The camera is now also available in purple and a classic white.
