The Canon EOS Kiss 5 is a single lens reflex camera. The 35mm camera is a Canon product and was launched by the Tokyo-based company in 2002. Internationally, the camera was offered under the names “Canon EOS 300V” and “EOS Rebel Ti”.
The lenses of the Canon EOS Kiss 5 are interchangeable. Lenses with an EF bayonet can be used. The focusing of the lens is done by a built-in autofocus system.
Photography is made easier by the built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 6 to 6400. The film speed is read out via the DX code. Values between 25 and 5000 are supported.
Exposure is measured through the lens. The Canon EOS Kiss 5 has several exposure modes. The aperture and exposure time can also be freely set by the photographer.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time. The regular shutter speeds range from 1/2000 second to 30 seconds.
The built-in flash can be used in low light conditions. This has a range of twelve metres at a film speed of ISO 100. External flash units can be addressed via the hot shoe.
The dimensions of the Canon EOS Kiss 5 are 13 x 8.8 x 6.4 cm. It weighs 365 grams. The required power for the camera comes from two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The Canon EOS Kiss 5 was built for the 35mm format. For this film format there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. A nice choice for color pictures of Fujifilm Superia 400* and for black and white pictures of AgfaPhoto APX 100*.
The color film is a negative film and is processed in the C-41 development process. C-41 films can be developed by most photo labs.
The 35 mm camera can only be found in used condition. The used price of the 35 mm camera depends on the condition and functionality.
