Canon EOS IX Lite

The Canon EOS IX Lite is a camera for the APS format. It belongs to the group of single lens reflex cameras and is part of Canon’s EOS series. The APS photo camera was also available on the market under the names “Canon EOS IX 7” (Europe) and “EOS IX 50” (Japan).

The Canon EOS IX Lite comes with interchangeable lenses. It comes with an EF bayonet. In most cases it was sold with the Canon EF 22-55mm f/4-5.6 USM. The 35mm camera is equipped with an autofocus.

Measuring the exposure is made easier by the built-in light meter. It can be used with films from ISO 6 to ISO 8000.

In the 35 mm camera, the exposure is measured through the lens (TTL). The Canon EOS IX Lite has automatic exposure control. You can choose between different exposure modes. The desired exposure time as well as the f-number can also be set by the user.

The Canon EOS IX Lite has a bulb mode. The shortest exposure time is 1/2000 second. The shutter can remain open for up to 30 seconds.

For pictures in low light a flash is built in. This has a range of 10 meters at ISO 100 and a hot shoe flash can also be connected.

The camera weighs 360 grams according to the operating instructions and measures 12.2 x 8 x 6.3 cm. The required power for the camera comes from two CR123A batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Canon EOS IX Lite

The EOS IX Lite is designed for the APS format. This film format was developed in the same decade and should score points for its ease of use. Nevertheless it could not assert itself. In 2011, the last major manufacturers stopped production.

There is no new film for the camera.

You can only buy the Canon EOS IX Lite used. The used price of the 35mm camera depends on the condition and functionality. Because of the missing films, the value is lower than comparable 35mm cameras.
