The Canon EOS 750 is a 35mm camera. It was introduced in 1988. The model is very similar to the EOS 850, but it lacks the built-in flash. The Canon EOS 750 QD comes with a data back plate and can expose the shooting date until 2019 on the pictures.
The Canon EOS 750 comes with interchangeable lenses. Lenses with an EF bayonet can be used with the camera. The Canon EF 35-70mm f/3.5-4 is often found with the 35mm photo camera. The Canon EOS 750 is equipped with a built-in autofocus system.
Photography is made easier by the built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 25 to 3200. The film speed is determined by the DX code on the film cartridge. The exposure is measured through the lens. The Canon EOS 750 can automatically set the aperture and exposure time. There are different automatic modes to choose from. A manual mode is also available.
The camera has shutter speeds from 1/2000 second to 2 seconds and comes with a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time and expose the film. The 35mm camera comes with a thread for a tripod. There is also a self-timer built in.
The built-in flash can be used in low light conditions. The power at ISO 100 is 12 meters according to the manual. An external flash can be ignited via the built-in hot shoe.
The dimensions of the Canon EOS 750 are 14.9 x 10.2 x 7.1 cm according to the manual. It weighs 620 grams. A 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*) provides the power supply.
Films for the Canon EOS 750
According to the operating instructions, the Canon EOS 750 is designed for the 35mm format. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. Beautiful 35mm films for color or black and white pictures are the Agfaphoto Vista 200* and the Ilford XP2 Super*. The film is transported with a built-in motor.
The production of the Canon EOS 750 was finished and today you can only buy it used. The value of a used copy is mainly measured by its condition and functionality.
Canon EOS 750 Quartz Date
In addition to the standard model, the Canon EOS 750 was also offered as a “Quartz Date” (QD) version. The special feature of the QD version was the ability to imprint the date of capture directly onto the image. This proved to be extremely practical for later archiving and sorting of the photos, as there was no EXIF data as in today’s digital photography.
