The Canon EOS 620 is a single lens reflex camera from 1987. 35mm camera was produced by Canon and is very similar to the Canon EOS 650.

The improvements are the faster shutter speed of 1/4,000s instead of 1/2000s of the EOS 650. The faster shutter speeds also improve when using flash with a 1/250 shutter instead of 1/125 with the EOS 650. The 620 also has an illuminated LCD screen, but it lacks the automatic depth-of-field mode.

The lenses of the Canon EOS 620 can be changed. It comes with an EF bayonet. In most cases you will find the Canon EF 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 on the camera. Manual focusing is not necessary with the 35mm camera. The Canon EOS 620 has an autofocus.

The 35mm camera has a built-in light meter. It is designed for films from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The film speed is read from the camera by the DX code on the film cartridge.

The exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera. The Canon EOS 620 has a program automatic and sets aperture and exposure time automatically. Aperture and exposure time can be freely set by the photographer in manual mode.

The camera comes with a bulb setting option. In this mode, the shutter is released as long as the shutter-release button is pressed. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe. The 35 mm camera has a self-timer. There is also a thread for a tripod.

The dimensions of the 35mm camera are 14.8 x 10.8 x 6.8 cm according to the manual. It weighs 700 grams. The power supply of the 35mm camera is done by a 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Canon EOS 620

According to the operating instructions, the Canon EOS 620 is designed for 35mm film. These films are still in production and can be specified at almost every supplier of development work. For black and white pictures you can use Kodak TRI-X 400*. For color pictures, Kodak Ultramax 400* is a possibility. Both films are well suited for vacation shots.

The color film is a negative film and is processed in the C-41 development process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab. For example, you can deliver your films to many drugstores in Germany for developing.

The exposure area of the Canon EOS 620 has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film transport is automatic. After each release the camera rewinds to the next picture.
