The Canon EOS 1000 N is a 35mm camera. It belongs to the group of SLR cameras and was introduced in the 1990s. It is the successor of the Canon EOS 1000.
Improvements to its predecessor are: the fastest shutter speed of 1/2000 s (from 1/1000 s), improvements to the speed of the autofocus, noise reduction of the camera and a soft focus mode (two shots with subject in focus and soft focus).
Under the name “Canon EOS Rebel II” the 35mm camera was sold on the American market.
The Canon EOS 1000 N offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. Therefore an EF bayonet was built into the camera. In most cases you will find the Canon EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 USM on the 35mm camera. The Canon EOS 1000 N is equipped with a built-in autofocus system.
The Canon EOS 1000 N has a built-in light meter. It is designed for shooting with films with a sensitivity of ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The camera uses the DX code to determine the correct film speed. The light meter is designed to measure the exposure through the camera lens.
The aperture and exposure time are set fully automatically from the 35 mm film in the program exposure mode. The exposure time and aperture can be freely selected in manual mode. In aperture priority or aperture priority mode, the photographer selects the aperture or shutter speed and the camera sets the correct counterpart.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. An external flash can be fired via the built-in hot shoe. There is also a self-timer. This has instead of the typical beeping different sounds in stock.
The power supply of the 35mm camera is provided by a 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Canon EOS 1000 N
Which film format is the Canon EOS 1000 N designed for? The camera needs films for the 35mm format. 35mm films are still being produced and are developed without problems in most photo labs. A good choice for the Canon EOS 1000 N are the Kodak Gold 200* (color film) and the Kodak T-Max 100* (black and white film).
Colour film is developed in the C-41 process. This development process is carried out by all photo labs that offer development of 35mm film.
The negatives of the Canon EOS 1000 N are 24 mm x 36 mm. The film transport is automatic. The photographer does not have to wind it further. The film is also transported back into the cartridge by motor.
The Canon EOS 1000 N is no longer in production. The used price of the 35 mm camera depends on its condition and functionality.
