The BKIFI Flowers film, offered under the brand name “BKIFI” by “Brooklyn Instant Film Initiative”, an American supplier, is a color negative film. The film stock is manufactured and distributed by another company.
Stories and moments can be captured in vivid color images with BKIFI Flowers film, thanks to its film speed of ISO 400, as indicated in the data sheet. This sensitivity is ideal for snapshots in most situations.
As a so-called effect film, the photo film is special because of its pre-exposure with flower symbols. These symbols can be found later in the pictures.
Development of the film
The development of the film in the C-41 process is necessary after it is full. In Germany, most laboratories offer development with C-41 chemistry. The captured images are preserved as film strips after the standardized C-41 color negative process is completed.
Prints or digitization: What follows film development?
Many developing labs offer the option of additionally having prints made of the images, or digitizing the analog film strips with a scanner. The scans can then be shared online or printed out again.
Formats
The 35mm format is only compatible with BKIFI Flowers film, which has room for 36 shots on a roll of film. There are a variety of cameras that are suitable for this format. Well-known manufacturers such as Olympus, Revue, Nikon and Minolta have produced such cameras.
Storage
Unexposed film material should be stored in a dry and cool room so as not to affect the quality of the material. It is recommended that the material not be stored for more than six months to avoid possible damage. Exposed film should be developed quickly to ensure that the quality of the material is maintained. Storage of film material should be carefully planned to ensure optimal quality of the final result.
