The SuperSampler – Rubberized Black is a 35mm camera. This edition is a SuperSampler in black with a rubberized surface. It offers the same features as the other SuperSamplers.
The camera shoots four pseudo-panorama images that are captured side-by-side on one frame. This is done by four lenses arranged in a row. The aperture of the four lenses is fixed at f8. Pulling a cord advances the film.
There are two shutter speeds: 2 seconds, if you want to capture one movement, or 0.2 seconds, for four equal images. The individual lenses expose the film for a hundredth of a second.
There is no viewfinder, so you can only guess what will be in the photo later. There is no need to focus with the SuperSampler – Rubberized Black because its focus is fixed.
Due to the fact that the camera has no connection for a flash, it is recommended to use films with high ISO values. You should be especially careful indoors, because they are often quite dark, even if they look bright to the human eye. You don’t want to end up with nothing on the film strips. The best conditions for the camera are outside in sunshine.
A battery is not necessary to use the camera. All functions are mechanical.
Included with the 35mm camera is a 144 page booklet. This also explains how to use the camera.
Films for the SuperSampler – Rubberized Black
The SuperSampler – Rubberized Black is a 35mm camera and requires 35mm film. Despite advances in technology, 35mm film is still produced and can be easily developed at most photo labs. A color film for the 35mm camera would be the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible film for black and white images is the Ilford XP2 Super*.
