The SuperSampler – Dalek is a 35mm camera. This Special Edition comes from the first collaboration between an artist and Lomography. This special edition of the SuperSampler came in pink and green. The camera body also features the “Space Monkey”, Dalek’s signature. It offers the same features as the other Supersamplers.
With its four lenses, the SuperSampler – Dalek makes a series of four images on one photo. These were installed side by side in a row in the camera. The aperture of the lenses is fixed at f/8.
The SuperSampler has two different shutter speeds that you can switch between, by a switch on the back of the camera: 2 seconds and 0.2 seconds. The 2 seconds are for action and movement. 0.2 seconds should be chosen if you want four identical images. For one hundredth of a second, light falls on the film per lens.
The model has no camera viewfinder. The camera’s focus setting is fixed, making it ideal for spontaneity. The multi-lens camera does not have a connection for an external flash. So films with high ISO values can’t hurt for indoors and cloudy days and save the photographer from too dark pictures. A battery for the Dalek version of the Supersampler is not necessary.
Further transport of the inserted film is possible by pulling a string. For the operation of the Supersampler 35mm film is necessary. The finished film can also be developed at DM, Rossmann and the like.
The camera comes with a roll of 35mm film and instructions in a box designed by Dalek. The book “URBANIZE!” with 168 pages full of graphics and photos by Dalek and 50 other lomographers is also included in the package.
