The Supersampler Chrome is a 35mm camera. It is part of the Lomography Chromiacs series, along with the Diana F+ Chrome, the Actionsampler Chrome, the Colorsplash Chrome and the Fisheye No. 2 Chrome.
It offers the same features as the other Supersampler cameras.
With the push of a button, this camera takes four time-shifted “panoramic” images. These are side by side on the later image. The four lenses of Lomography’s Supersampler were installed in a row. The aperture of the 20 mm lenses is fixed at f/8.
There are two shutter speeds to choose from: 0.2 seconds for 4 equal exposures or 2 seconds for capturing motion. 1100 second each lens exposes the film.
One looks in vain for a viewfinder on Supersampler Chrome. The camera’s focus settings cannot be changed. Since the camera does not have a port for a flash, it is advisable to shoot with it only on sunny days or to use a very sensitive film.
No battery is needed to operate the multi-lens camera. The film is rewound by pulling a small cord.
Which films are suitable for the Supersampler Chrome?
The Supersampler Chrome is a camera designed for 35mm film. Even today, 35mm film is still being made and can be easily processed by most outside photo labs.
If you want to shoot color images with this camera, we recommend Fujifilm Superia 400* film, while for black and white shots, we recommend Ilford Delta 400 Film is preferred. Of course you can also use other brands of film with the camera.
The C-41 process is recommended for developing the color film. Almost all photo labs are capable of performing this process. When developing black and white film, you have the option of either going to a photo lab or doing the processing at home. There are numerous online guides that can help you develop black and white film.
