The Street Candy MTN 100 is a black and white film. The film is distributed under the Street Candy brand. The material was produced, but by a different manufacturer. The exact manufacturer is not known. The supplier only notes that it is material for theatrical film production and the manufacturer is a traditional company from Germany. ORWO, or more precisely the ORWO UN54, fits this description best.

The Street Candy MTN 100 is film stock for black and white shooting. The sensitization of the film emulsion is panchromatic. The nominal speed is specified as ISO 100.

One advantage of ISO 100 film is its fine-grained structure. Since the film is less sensitive to light than faster films, the grain becomes less visible. This results in high resolution and sharpness in photos without the image being marred by distracting grain structures.

One disadvantage of ISO 100 film is its lower sensitivity to light. This means that it can be more difficult to take pictures in dark environments or low light conditions. It usually requires longer exposure times or a larger aperture to get enough light on the film.

Developing the film

A black and white developer must be used to develop the Street Candy MTN 100. The development can be done by a photo lab or you can develop it yourself using the appropriate photo chemistry. The developed film strips can then be scanned.

If one wishes, the film can also be developed as slide film. For this, however, you need a different kind of chemistry. Corresponding kits are offered by Foma, among others.

Formats of the Street Candy MTN 100

You can purchase the Street Candy MTN 100 for 35mm cameras only. One roll of film holds 36 frames. The film cartridge does not have DX encoding. The film is supplied in a cardboard can and not plastic, as is usually the case.

An alternative for the film would be the Ilford FP4 Plus*.
