The Spector Color 100 is a film for classic color photos. ISO 100 is the specified value of the film’s sensitivity. The ISO of 100 is ideal for everyday shooting and during vacations.

Development of the film

Nowadays, should you come across a roll of film, it is necessary to develop it using the C-41 process before you can view the images. To accomplish this, the film can simply be taken to a photo lab. Unlike black-and-white films, the development process of color films is standardized.

In Germany, large drugstore chains offer a service for Color 100 development. After successful development, one receives the film strips with one’s own photographs.

It is then possible to scan and print the finished negatives or make prints directly. Many professional photo labs offer the option to make prints (photo prints) in different sizes during development.

Conversion of negatives to digital formats

To be able to use the images from the film strips digitally, it is recommended to digitize them with the help of a scanner. In this area you can find numerous devices for the conversion of negatives and other film formats, which differ in terms of functions and prices. After digitizing the photos, there is the possibility of either processing them digitally or using them as a printed version.

Availability and alternatives

The Spector Color 100 was only available as 35mm film. It was not available for medium format cameras.

The film cartridge of the 35mm film was equipped with a DX code. Many cameras can read this and set the film speed automatically.

Suitable cameras for the 35mm format are offered by manufacturers such as Zenit, Rollei or Porst. However, there are also other cameras that are suitable for the use of 35 mm film.

The color film is no longer produced anew and is also no longer in the offer of the photo dealer. A replacement for 35mm format is Kodak Gold 200*. This provides solid results and is still sold.
