The Rollei Superpan 200 is a black and white film. It has a sensitivity of ISO 200 and, as the name of the film suggests, is superpanchromatically sensitized.
The Superpan has an extended red range up to 750nm and can be exposed 1 stop plus/minus.
Care should be taken when storing unexposed film material to prevent possible loss of quality in later photographs. Long-term storage of unexposed material requires a dry and cool place. The best course of action after exposing the film is to develop it promptly to avoid possible deterioration in quality.
Developing the film
The Superpan 200 must be developed in a developer for black and white films. With the necessary equipment, developing a black-and-white film at home is easily possible, although photo labs also offer this service. The choice of developer is of great importance for the final result.
There are development specifications from the manufacturer not for every developer involved in the film. If you still want to use a developer, you can test develop a small portion with different development instructions. The result of the development is the finished negatives. Subsequently, either prints of the images can be made or they can be scanned for digital use. In addition to the development process, most photo labs also offer to create prints in various sizes.
Using a scanner, Rollei Superpan 200 film strips can be easily and quickly digitized for further processing of the images. The digitization of negatives can be done by many photo labs. However, it is also possible to buy a scanner for private use. One can further process the digitized photos in digital form or share them on social media.
Formats
The Rollei Superpan 200 B/W film is packaged as roll film and for 35mm cameras. With a normal image size, 36 images fit on the film. There is a wide range of 35mm cameras with which the film can be exposed. Brands such as Canon, Revue or Agfa have suitable camera models in their range. To expose the film, a medium format camera is needed, which is available in different models and with different functions. Well-known brands in this area include Hasselblad, Lomography and Mamiya.
