When the film is full, it needs to be developed. Depending on the type of film, there are different options for development. For a black and white film, development is also possible at home with the right chemicals and equipment. Especially if you are just starting out in analog photography or only use very few films per year, the possibility of development at one of the drugstore chains is a good option.
While shopping for daily necessities, you can, for example, drop off your films for development at the nationwide chain DM. From there, they are sent to a professional photo lab and come back developed, ready to be picked up at the store. Of course, the quality is not entirely comparable to a real professional lab, but for a start, it is certainly sufficient.
How much does development cost at DM-Markt?
Developing a 35mm film costs 0.95 euros at DM. In addition, there are costs for prints and/or a photo CD with scans.
