Price List: Film Development at DM-Markt

Like most German drugstore chains, DM-Markt also offers film development. You drop off your films at the store and specify your preferences, such as the size of the prints. The films are then sent to a large lab for processing. Afterwards, they return to the store where you can pick them up and pay.

Here we come to an important point: the costs for development at DM-Markt. The costs vary greatly depending on the film format and film type.

Typically, a development flat fee is charged. On top of that, there are costs for prints or digitization. For some film formats, prints (first copy) are mandatory and must be ordered even if you don't want them.

The number of prints made depends on the format and length of the film. In this overview, we have always assumed 36 (35mm format) or 12 (medium format) exposures.

35mm Films

The 35mm format is the most commonly used and widespread film format for photography. It is characterized by its handy size and high flexibility. 35mm films are typically 35mm wide and have a length of 24 or 36 exposures. Due to its popularity and availability, cameras and accessories for the 35mm format are easily found on the market. It offers photographers a versatile option for different shooting situations and is therefore a preferred choice in photography.

Color Negative Films (C-41)

Most color films are developed using the C-41 process. Whether a film is of this type is indicated on the cartridge. They are marked with C-41, CN-16, CNK-4, or AP-70.

Slide Films (E6)

Slide films are developed using the E6 process. After development, you receive the slides. Mounting is no longer offered, so you must mount them yourself. Prints cannot be made during development. Only development costs apply.

Black-and-White Films

Development of black-and-white films is also offered. Note that the films are not developed individually. If you want full control and the best possible results, you should develop the films yourself.

Medium Format Films

Medium format refers to the use of roll films in photography. Unlike the common 35mm format, medium format films offer a larger image area and thus enable more detailed shots. This type of film is often used by professional photographers as it offers higher image quality and flexibility.
