The Praktica LTL 2 is a single lens reflex camera. It was produced between 1975 and 1978 by Pentacon.
The lens of the Praktica LTL 2 is exchangeable. A M42 lens mount was installed for this purpose. The 35mm SLR does not available an autofocus function. The focus is set manually.
In the Praktica LTL 2 an exposure meter was integrated. Exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera and activated by a knob on the camera. The desired exposure time can be determined manually. The aperture is also individually selectable. The 35mm camera comes with a bulb mode. An external strobe or a flash unit can be connected to the Hot Shoe.
Films for the Praktica LTL 2
The Praktica LTL 2 needs 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced by different manufacturers. A 35mm film for color pictures is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the Ilford FP4 Plus*
The Praktica LTL 2 can be released by self-timer or with an additional cable release. A thread for a tripod is available. The 35mm camera is powered by a 4.5V PX 21 battery.
Production of Praktica LTL 2 was terminated and today you can only buy it used. The value of a used copy depends mainly on the condition and if it works correctly.
