The Praktica EE 2 is a single lens reflex camera. It was produced by the East German company “Pentacon” from 1977 to 1979.
The lenses of the Praktica EE 2 can be easily interchanged. It features a M42 lens mount. The Praktica EE 2 has no autofocus. Therefore, you have to focus by hand.
For photographing, the Praktica EE 2 an exposure meter. It can set the correct exposure for 35mm films with a sensitivity of ISO 12 to ISO 1600. The precise exposure is measured trough the lens (TTL) of the 35mm SLR. The shutter speed and aperture can be selected by the photographer. Bulb mode is available for long exposures. In this mode, the shutter will open as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash can be used via the PC flash socket.
Films for the Praktica EE 2
The Praktica EE 2 requires 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most photo labs. A good film choice for the model are the Kodak Portra 160* (color film) and the AgfaPhoto APX 100* (black and white film).
The Praktica EE 2 can be triggered by a self-timer or an additional cable release. A thread for a tripod is available. The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by one VARTA V21 PX battery.
The camera can be bought today only used. The price for a used copy of the Praktica EE 2 vary depending on the condition.
