The Polaroid Sun 600 LMS Laminex is a camera from Polaroid. It is an instant photo camera. The model is based on the Polaroid One Step Flash in terms of functionality. It has been designed in collaboration with Laminex. Next to the lens is the logo of “Laminex Inc.”

The Polaroid Sun 600 LMS Laminex impresses with its ease of use. Many adjustment options found on other types of cameras have been omitted. The ease of use results in a low barrier to entry and thus a wide range of possibilities for areas of application.

If you are planning a wedding or a celebration, the camera is a good choice for taking pictures. Especially on vacation, taking pictures with the camera is of course a lot of fun.

The most important settings are fixed with the camera. The aperture and shutter speed cannot be changed by the user. The lens has a fixed focal length. It is not possible to change the lens. Many modern cameras have a zoom function. This function is not found on this model. A minimum distance of 120 cm from the subject should be maintained for sharp pictures.

Is the instant camera equipped with a flash? Yes, the instant camera has an integrated flash. The flash is triggered automatically. Especially for indoor shots, this is also necessary, because the camera needs a lot of light for good photos.

Films for the Polaroid Sun 600 LMS Laminex

Is it still possible to take pictures with the photo camera today? Yes, with the right instant films. The US company Polaroid, the manufacturer of cameras, has had to give up film production. A Dutch company is again developing and manufacturing suitable films for the 600 format. Caution. The instant films of the Fujifilm company are unsuitable for the Polaroid Sun 600 LMS Laminex.

The Dutch company Polaroid offers a black and white and color film. The suitable color film is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. Those who prefer monochrome images can choose the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. Both films are a popular choice.

One pack contains eight images. The instant films are very sensitive to light. Contact with light before shooting should therefore be avoided. The optimal conditions for storage are found in a dry and dark place.

According to the standard, an image measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. The 600 cameras produce square pictures with a dimension of 7.7 by 7.7 cm. The remaining area of the Polaroid picture is white. Also available are editions of Polaroid films with colorful frames.

Batteries

What batteries are required for the instant camera? With this type of camera, the battery is found in the cassette along with the unexposed images. The disposable battery contains the necessary energy for the camera technology including the built-in flash. So changing the film is also changing the battery. There is no need to buy another battery for the camera.

The disposable battery does not belong in the household waste together with the film cassette. It is best to take the plastic cassette or just the battery to a suitable local return facility.

How to take photos with an instant camera? An introductory guide to taking photos with the Polaroid instant camera.

The first step is to load the film. To do this, first slide the slider on the side forward so that the film door opens. The film cassette is inserted and the flap is closed again. The camera now directly removes the protective film from the film.

The camera is now ready to take pictures. The subject can be aimed at through the viewfinder. The shutter release is then located on the side for taking pictures. The motor in the camera now ejects the image and development begins. After a few minutes, you have the finished picture in your hand.

Alternatives

If you can’t locate this model, you can opt for alternatives. Two nice options would be the Polaroid Sun 660* and Polaroid Family*. These are models with a comparable feature set. They are also suitable for the 600 format.

A new angle is brought by other camera manufacturers. A good entry point is the Instax Mini 8* and Diana Instant Square*. Fresh film stock can still be purchased for these cameras as well.
