The Polaroid Party is a camera from Polaroid. It is an instant camera. The functionality of the model is the same as the Polaroid One Step Flash Closeup. Today, of course, this camera is no longer built. The camera was offered in various colorful versions.

The Polaroid Party impresses with its easy user interface. Most of the setting options found on other camera types were omitted. The simplicity allows a low entry barrier and thus many possibilities for application areas. If you are planning a wedding or party, the camera is a good choice for taking pictures. It is also a good choice for vacations.

It is not possible to adjust the exposure settings. An arbitrary choice or free choice of shutter speed and aperture is not possible. The lens has a fixed focal length. It is not possible to exchange the lens. The model does not have a zoom function. Instead, you simply have to move the camera closer to the subject.

In order to achieve razor-sharp results, a minimum distance of 60 cm should be maintained from the subject. To do this, the close-up lens must be moved in front of the actual optics.

Does the camera have a flash? Yes, the instant camera comes with an integrated flash. The flash fires automatically when you take a picture. Quite especially in low light situations, the flash is one of the most important features.

Films for the Polaroid Party

The most important thing for taking photos with the instant camera is the instant films. The original film material is no longer produced. However, since 2010, a new company has been producing suitable film material again.

When choosing film, you can choose between two options, a color film and a black and white film. The Polaroid Color Film for 600* is the instant film for color photos. Many great black and white images are possible with the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. Both films can deliver good results in tests.

The material in one pack is enough for eight pictures. The film material is light-sensitive and should therefore never come into contact with light before shooting. For longer storage, find a place that is dry. Also, it should not be stored too warm.

Following the standard, a picture measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. On an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm you will find the picture taken. The remaining area of the Polaroid picture is white. Are white frames too boring? Then you can buy editions with colorful frames.

Batteries

What batteries are necessary for the Polaroid Party? With this type of camera, the power source is found in the cassette along with the unexposed pictures. It supplies power to the camera technology and flash. So replacing the film also serves as a change of power source. An additional battery is not required for the instant camera.

If the camera with film has been stored for a long time, the battery may have discharged. Consequently, the camera may no longer function as it should. To do this, simply remove the photo film and replace it with new film stock.

The first step is to insert the film. To open the camera, slide the slider on the side of the camera body. Then the film cassette is inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The protective film is now automatically removed from the camera.

The camera is now ready for use. To do this, aim the camera at the subject and press the shutter release button. The camera’s motor ejects the image. Now the photochemistry starts developing the image. The development process is completed after a short waiting time. Then you can look at the final result.
