The Polaroid Panna is an instant camera and was introduced in the early 2000s. The functionality of the model corresponds to the Polaroid One600 Pro. Today, of course, this camera is no longer manufactured.
The body of the camera is made of plastic. The design has been kept to the colors dark gray and white. On the front is the imprint “Panna” in light letters
The Polaroid Panna impresses with its ease of use. Most of the setting options found on other types of cameras have been omitted. Thanks to its ease of use, it can be used on many different occasions.
Changing the exposure settings is not possible. Aperture and shutter speed, for example, cannot be changed by the user. The lens is fixed and cannot be changed. There is no zoom function like on a digital camera. Instead of pressing the zoom button, you have to get closer to the subject for close-ups. The close-up limit is 60 cm. This minimum distance must be maintained for sharp images.
An integrated flash should not be missing in this camera. When the trigger is pressed, it fires automatically and is effective at a range of up to 3 meters. Since the camera needs a lot of light due to the small aperture opening, the flash comes to the rescue in many cases. There is also a red-eye reduction mode for portraits.
A tripod thread can be found on the underside. A self-timer is not missing either. This is very useful for group pictures.
The exposure can be changed slightly with the light/dark slider. There are no other setting options in this area. The display is next to the controller. Among other things, the number of remaining photos appears there.
Films for the Polaroid Panna
The right instant film is essential for taking photos with a photo camera. The original film material from the American photo pioneers Polaroid can no longer be found in stores. A new company from the Netherlands has been offering suitable film material again since 2010.
On the Internet you can find dealers who sell a color film and a film for monochrome photos. For color photos there is Polaroid Color Film for 600*. If you prefer black and white images, we recommend choosing the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. They are both very fun to use.
One pack is enough for eight pictures. The film material is sensitive to light and should therefore not come into contact with light before exposure. A cool and dry place to store unused footage is optimal.
An instant film has a size of 10.8 x 8.8 cm cm. An area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm is provided for the actual image. A white area fills the remaining area. Are white frames too boring? Then there are editions with colorful frames.
Can the Japanese manufacturer’s Instax films be used? No, the films are not suitable for the Polaroid instant camera.
Batteries
What kind of batteries do you need for the Polaroid Panna? With this type of camera you will find the battery in the plastic cassette. The disposable battery contains the necessary energy for the camera technology with flash. Changing the film is also a change of power source. This is the only battery needed for the camera.
The disposable battery must not be disposed of with the household waste together with the film cassette. It is best to take the plastic cassette or just the battery to a responsible local collection point.

If you can’t find the camera, you can opt for alternatives. The Polaroid Sun 600 LMS* and Polaroid OneStep Close Up* would be other possibilities. The models offer comparable functions. They are also both 600 format and use the same films.
