The Polaroid Lacoste is an instant camera. It was introduced in the spring of 2021. This edition was created in collaboration with the fashion brand Lacoste. The retail price was set at 150 euros in Europe.
The basis of the edition is a revised Polaroid One Step Flash. The design was kept in green and red. Next to the lens there is a stylized eye. Above the film ejection is a black jagged line on a white background. In addition to the camera, some clothing items with Polaroid images and designs were sold.
From the feature set, the Polaroid One Step Flash Edition offers a built-in flash. Exposure settings, aperture and shutter speed, are automatically selected by the camera’s light meter. You don’t have to do more than press the shutter button with the camera. In general, the instant camera does not offer any setting options, except for the bright/dark slider. On the back is a counter for the number of pictures still available.
Films for the Polaroid Lacoste
The Polaroid Lacoste is designed for the type 600 format. This Polaroid format is one of the most popular. The pictures with the films are the same as what you would imagine Polaroid pictures to be. The actual picture is square and surrounded by a frame. The bottom of the frame is slightly thicker than the rest.
Instant film is again produced for the camera. For color pictures, there is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. Those who like black and white pictures can reach for the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. There are eight images in one pack. Also included in the film cassette is a battery. The battery powers the instant camera and flash.
Each time the shutter button is pressed, the camera pushes the image out by rolling on the film cassette. With this step, the developing paste is spread over the image and the development of the captured image begins. How long the development takes depends on the selected film.
