The Polaroid Jägermeister is a camera from Polaroid. It is an instant camera. The model is based on the Polaroid One Step (rounded corners) in terms of functionality.
The edition was produced for the German liquor manufacturer. There is a Jägermeister logo next to each of the flash and lens. The color accents are in the brand’s orange color.
The Polaroid Jägermeister impresses with its lightness and ease of use. Many setting options found on other types of cameras have been omitted. The simplicity allows for a low barrier to entry and thus many possibilities for areas of application. The camera is ideal for shooting when you have a wedding or festival on the agenda. It is also a good choice for vacations.
Changes to the exposure settings are not possible. The shutter speed and aperture value cannot be freely selected. The lens has a fixed focal length. Changing the lens is not possible. A zoom function, as with modern cameras, is not available. A minimum distance of 60 cm is necessary for sharp pictures.
The photo camera has an integrated flash. It switches on automatically when taking pictures. This is also necessary, especially when shooting indoors, because the camera needs a lot of light for good pictures.
Films for the Polaroid Jägermeister
Of great importance for the Polaroid instant camera are the corresponding photo films. The camera manufacturer, Polaroid, has ceased production. A new company from the Netherlands offers since 2010 again suitable film material.
From the Internet you can get a color film and a black and white film. For color pictures with the camera there is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. If you prefer to take monochrome pictures, you can use the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. In tests, both can often do well and get a high rating score.
You can find eight photos in a box. The light-sensitive film material should not come into contact with light outside the camera. Unexposed film stock should be stored in a dark, dry place.
Each of the eight images measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. In this case, the captured image occupies an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm. The remaining surface of the picture is white. However, there is also edition with colorful frames.
Batteries
What batteries are needed for the Polaroid Jägermeister? The camera is powered by a battery located in the film cassette. It provides the camera with enough power to take photos. So replacing the film also serves as a change of power source. There is no need for another separate battery for the instant camera.
If the camera with film has been stored for a long time, the battery may have discharged. Of course, in the absence of sufficient power, the camera will no longer function. The solution is simply a film with a new battery. It is not necessary to repair it.
Manual for the Polaroid Jägermeister
How to take pictures with the instant camera? An introductory guide to using the Polaroid camera.
The first step is to load the film. The film door opens by pressing the slider on the side of the housing. Then insert the film cassette and close the flap again. The protective film is now automatically removed from the camera.
Now it’s time to take the picture. Hold the camera on the subject and press the release button. The development of the image starts after the motor has transported the image out. After the development process of the instant photo is over after a few minutes, the photo can be examined closely.
Alternative Options
If you can’t find a model, you can resort to alternatives. Here, of course, the first option is the Polaroid One Step (rounded corners). It offers the same functional features and requires the same material of films.
But maybe you want to try something new. Here, for example, there are the Instax Mini 8* and Instax Mini 9*. Fresh film stock can still be purchased for the cameras.
