The Polaroid Easy is an instant camera for the 600 format. It is practically identical to the Polaroid 636 Closeup or Polaroid One Step (rounded corners).
The housing is black and made of plastic. The front is decorated with the imprint “Easy”.
The Polaroid Easy is really easy to use. A manual is not really necessary. Aim at the subject, press the shutter button and the camera does the rest.
The instant camera automatically sets the exposure time and aperture. The flash is also fired automatically. The focus is fixed. With the close-up lens, shots are possible at a distance of 60 cm from the subject. Lighter and darker the instant picture with the light/dark control.
Films for the Easy are no longer produced by Polaroid, suitable alternatives are available from The Impossible Project. These are also sold under the original brand name again since 2020. For the Polaroid Easy, for example, the Polaroid Color Film for 600* or the Polaroid B&W Film for 600* from Impossible are suitable.
Batteries
What batteries do you need for the Polaroid Easy? With this type of camera, the battery is found in the film cassette. The disposable battery is sufficient for all unexposed images in the cassette. Even when using the flash for each shot. So changing the film also provides a new battery. This is the only battery needed for the camera. After the film is empty, the film cassette should not be disposed of in the household trash. It is best to take the plastic cassette or just the battery to a responsible local drop-off center.
Instructions for the Polaroid Easy
How to take photos with the instant camera? A quick guide on how the instant camera works. First, you need to load the camera with the film. To do this, slide the slider forward on the side to open the film door. Now the cassette with the film material can be inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The film protecting the film is now removed by the motor in the camera. Now you can start taking pictures. Aim at the subject through the viewfinder and press the shutter release button. The motor in the camera now ejects the instant image and development is started. Within a few minutes, the development process is complete and you can view the final result.
Polaroid Easy 636 Closeup
It is practically no different from the normal Polaroid Easy. The only difference is the imprint of the name.
