The Polaroid Magical Camera is an instant camera from Polaroid. The same features can be found on the Polaroid One Step Flash.

The camera is designed in black and red. On the top and next to the flash are printed some figures of the Japanese company Sanrio. For example, there is a small Hello Kitty. There is also a small row of flowers next to the lens and the imprint “Magical Camera” above the image output.

The Polaroid Magical Camera is characterized by its uncomplicated handling. It has been designed without most of the setting options found on other types of cameras. Thanks to this low entry threshold, the camera can be operated by anyone and is therefore suitable for many occasions. For example, it is a good choice for parties and weddings. Of course, taking pictures with the camera is also a lot of fun, especially on vacation.

Changes to the exposure settings are not possible. Free selection of shutter speed and aperture is not possible. The lens is fixed and cannot be changed. This model does not have a practical zoom function. To zoom, it is necessary to get closer to the subject. The shortest distance for focusing is 120 cm. This distance must be at least maintained to achieve razor-sharp results.

Of course, you will also find a built-in flash on the instant camera. The flash fires automatically. Especially in low-light situations, the flash is one of the most important functions.

Films for the Polaroid Magical Camera

Extremely significant for the instant camera are the appropriate photo films. The camera manufacturer, Polaroid, has given up production. Under the old brand name films are offered again. They are produced in the Netherlands.

There is a color and a black-and-white film for the 600 format. The right choice for color photos with the instant camera is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. The right choice for monochrome pictures is the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. The films can consistently convince in test reports.

One box contains a film cassette with eight photos. Under no circumstances should the light-sensitive material come into contact with light. A dark and dry place is perfect for storage over a long period of time.

An instant film has a size of 10.8 x 8.8 cm cm. As with SX-70 cameras, the actual image is square and 7.7 by 7.7 cm. All the remaining space of the Polaroid picture is white. To can also be found editions of Polaroid films with colored frames.

You can not use the films from Fujifilm with the Polaroid Magical Camera.

Batteries

Do you need batteries for the camera? With this type of camera, the battery is found in the unexposed images cassette. It contains enough power for all unexposed images in the film cassette. Even when using the flash. So changing the film is also changing the power source. There is no need for another separate battery for the instant camera.

The film cassette, because of the battery, should not be thrown in the regular household trash if possible. The battery should be recycled accordingly.
