The Lomography Simple-Use Film Camera Optimistic Ox Edition is a limited edition disposable camera from Lomography. It was introduced to the public in January 2021. The edition is inspired by the Chinese zodiac sign of 2021, the ox. The body of the camera is decorated with an in a modern interpretation of the ancient East Asian art of paper marbling with the dominant colors of red and gold.
Inside the camera is a roll of LomoChrome Metropolis. It provides very unusual images with a special aesthetic, but can be developed normally in the C-41 process. The number of images that fit on one roll is 36.
The disposable camera is equipped with a 31mm plastic lens. The lens is fixed and cannot be focused (1 meter to infinity). The shutter speed (1/120 sec) and aperture (f/9) cannot be changed either.
A built-in flash provides sufficient illumination. Nevertheless, you should not be too far away from the subject. The flash has a charging time of fifteen seconds and is powered by an AA battery. For more creativity, there are three color filters for the flash.
