The Lomography Black and White Babylon 13 35mm is a black and white film. The film is distributed by Lomography. The film was made for the use as cinema film by a German manufacturer. The product was introduced in 2020.
The Lomography Black and White Babylon 13 35mm allows black and white images. The sensitization of the film emulsion is panchromatic. The sensitivity of the film is specified as ISO 13. It should therefore only be used with a fast lens on a sunny day.
The manufacturer describes the characteristics of the film with sharp details, fine grain and subtle color gradients that capture soft contrasts and retain the properties even in super-bright areas.
Development of the film
Unlike colour negative film, there is no standardised development process for the Black and White Babylon 13 35mm. It must be developed in a black and white developer. The development can take place in a photo lab. You have more control over the result if you develop the film yourself. The developed film strips can then be scanned.
The D-96 developer is recommended for the development. Kodak HC-110, Ilford Ilfosol 3, Compad R09 and Rodinal can also be used for developing the film material.
Formats
The Black and White Babylon 13 35mm was only available in 35mm format. On a roll of the b/w film 36 photos fit. It is very unlikely that there will be other formats of this film on the market.
