The La Sardina DIY is an edition of the La Sardina from Lomography. It was introduced in July 2012.

The special feature of this version is the possibility to customize it. It is delivered completely in white. So there are no limits to creativity. The shell of the camera can be removed with a screwdriver included in the delivery.

The DIY comes with Fritz the Blitz, color filters for the flash, a lens cap, the screwdriver, some spare screws, a transparent plate for the front and back, a poster and a book with photos (“Seeing the world through a sardine cam”).

In terms of functions, it is identical to the normal La Sardina. It uses 35mm film (eBay / Amazon*), has a 22mm plastic lens, a bulb mode for long exposures and a switch for double and multiple exposures. The development of the finished 35mm film is possible in any normal lab and should go off without a hitch.
