The Impossible Color Film for SX-70 is an instant film. It is designed for color images and is the latest color film generation from Impossible (as of April 2017).
The Impossible Color Film for SX-70 is designed for Polaroid’s SX-70 format. The SX-70 instant format was introduced by Polaroid in the 1970s and the predecessor to the 600 format Polaroid ended production for this film format.
The size of a picture is 8.8 x 10.7 cm. The actual image takes up an area of 7.9 x 7.9 cm. The instant film has a sensitivity of ISO 125.
The Impossible Color Film for SX-70 can be exposed in all models of the Polaroid SX-70 family. This includes the foldable SLR cameras, but also the box cameras made of plastic, such as the Polaroid 1000.
Due to its lower sensitivity, instant film cannot be used in Polaroid 600 cameras.
The development time for one picture is 20-30 minutes. Optimal results are obtained at an ambient temperature of 14-28 degrees. Cold and heat can affect the results.
The individual pictures are stored in a special cassette. The film holder is placed in the camera as a whole. If the frame counter shows “2”, a film change is due. The battery is also located in the film cassette. It supplies the Polaroid SX-70 camera with power.
Eight pictures can be taken with one pack. It is best to store the instant film at 5-10 degrees in the dark in a dry place.
Alternative
The color film is now no longer offered. As an alternative, there is now the Polaroid Color Film for SX-70*. It is the latest generation from the factory in the Netherlands and is also offered again under the original brand logo.
