The Holga ‘Jack Edition’ is a special edition of the Holga 120 CFN. The camera was created in collaboration with the band The White Stripes and Lomography. It was introduced together with the Diana+ Meg in 2007.

The design of the camera is red and white. However, the lens, that is, the area around the lens, is classic black. The housing of the Holga is of course made of plastic. The lens, which produces the typical Lomo effects such as distortion and vignetting, is also plastic on this model of the legendary camera from Asia.

The scope of delivery is a bit more lush than the normal edition. So with the camera comes a White Stripes Edition Fisheye adapter with lens, 3 plastic filters (one completely red and two with soft-sourround effect), an exclusive Peppermint lens filter, an attachment for the plastic filters, the book “The World Through a Plastic Lens, batteries for the flash, tape (to seal the Holga) and a roll of 120 film.

In terms of functionality, it is identical to the Holga 120 CFN. It has a built-in color filter flash. This is powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Holga ‘Jack Edition’

The Holga ‘Jack Edition’ uses 120 film. There are still some producers for this film format. Possible films for the Holga ‘Jack Edition’ are the Kodak Ektar 100* and the Ilford XP2 Super*. The Ektar is known for its saturated images. The XP2 is a nice black and white film with a high exposure latitude and good sensitivity for Holga use.

Both films are developed using the C-41 process. This development process is offered by most photo labs.

The toy camera captures the images on the film in 6×6. Approximately twelve photos can be taken with one roll of film. With an appropriate mask, sixteen pictures are also possible. On the back is a small window that shows the current number of pictures. A wheel is used to advance the film to the next frame. Depending on the film, the number on the back paper of the film is easier or harder to see. With Kodak or Ilford films, this is usually not a problem.
