The Fujifilm Fujichrome T64 Professional is a slide film. It is a so-called tungsten film. This is a film that is designed for taking pictures in artificial light. With today’s digital cameras, the white balance can be changed within seconds, which was not so easy in the past.

By default, every film had the white balance settings built in, mostly for daylight shots. To get accurate colours in tungsten light, you had to use a film like the Fujichrome T64.

The Fujifilm T64 is claimed by the manufacturer to have soft gradation, high colour stability and accurate colour reproduction under tungsten light. Due to its low sensitivity of ISO 64, it delivers very fine-grained results.

The RTP II has an RMS value of 7. The slide film is designed for a temperature of 3200K. If you want to use it under other lighting conditions, you need a colour filter in front of the lens.

The slide film is developed in the regular E6 process. This development process is offered by many professional photo labs. However, you can throw it into a C-41 developing bath to get interesting colour results.

The Fujifilm T64 was produced in all important formats. You could use the slide film in 35mm, medium format and large format cameras. Although the Fujifilm T64 was very popular on release, demand declined over the years as digital photography gained popularity. This eventually led to Fujifilm ceasing production of the film, causing regret among many film enthusiasts.

There is no alternative for tungsten film, as it is a niche within a niche. If one wants to continue making slides, the Fujifilm Provia 100F* is a good choice.
