Fuda GA 100

The Fuda GA 100 is a negative film for color images that was produced by Xiamen Photographic Materials Company Limited (XPMC) in China. The color film production facility in Xiamen was built in cooperation with Eastman Kodak. In the 1980s, the Chinese company was able to start producing film materials. The assets were then merged into Kodak China as early as the 1990s.

The Fuda GA 100 is suitable for shooting on a sunny day and should be exposed to a sensitivity of ISO 100. If you can still find a roll of the film today, you should expose it a bit more, as the material can lose light sensitivity over the years. You should also expect color shifts in the images.

Developing the film

Film must be developed using the C-41 process, which is a standardized development process offered by most photo labs. Of course, if you can still find a roll of film today, you can still use and develop the film. For example, the Fuda GA 100 can be developed at Rossmann, Budni or DM-Markt in Germany. However, there are a number of other labs that offer color film development.

Availability and alternatives

The Fuda GA 100 was available for 35mm format with a frame count of 36. With a half-frame camera for 35mm format, even 72 frames are possible on a roll of film. There was also a version for 24 exposures.

The cartridge was marked with a DX code, which contains the film speed and can be read automatically by some cameras.
