  • Sensitivity (ISO) ISO 3200
  • Film Type Black and white film
  • Availability Available

The Ilford Delta 3200 is a black and white film. The black and white film was introduced in 1998.

The real sensitivity is ISO 1000, but it has a wide exposure latitude. It can be exposed between ISO 400 and ISO 6400, producing usable to very good results.

Due to its high sensitivity, it is well suited for shooting in very low light. You pay for this with a stronger grain than with a less sensitive film.

The Ilford Delta 3200 is developed in a suitable black-and-white developer and not in the C-41 process. This can be done at a specialized lab, for example.

Of course, you can also develop it yourself; the developer does not have to be made by Ilford. Ilford recommends the ILFOTEC DD-X or Microphen (stock) as black and white developer.

You can buy the Ilford Delta 3200 in two film formats. It is available as 35mm film and medium format film. Next to it, there is the Delta 100 and the Delta 400. The Fujifilm Neopan 1600 and the Kodak T-Max P3200, which also belong to the high-sensitivity black-and-white films, are no longer produced.

Storage

Unexposed material should be stored in a dry and cool place. If you are exposing material that is already past its expiration date, you may want to adjust the exposure, as high-sensitivity films usually lose some sensitivity the older they are.

After you have exposed the Ilford Delta 3200, you should develop it promptly to get the best possible results from the black and white film.
