The Kodak T-Max P3200 is a black and white film. It is the most sensitive film of the T-Max series.

The real sensitivity of the 35mm film is ISO 800. During development, the panchromatic film is pushed directly to ISO 3200.

The high film speed makes it naturally well suited for moving subjects and low-light shooting. The black-and-white film is also intended for handheld shots with a telephoto lens and sports pictures. The film is developed in a black and white developer, such as the Kodak XTOL.

Kodak ended production of the film in 2012. Kodak cited declining demand as the reason for the discontinuation.

The T-Max 3200 has been available again since spring 2018.

Development of the film

Developing Kodak T-Max 3200 film requires the use of black-and-white photochemicals. Both home and photo lab development is possible, and the choice of developing chemicals can affect the image impression in terms of contrast, film grain, and grayscale.

If information on development times, mixing ratio, and temperature is not available for the specific developer, it is recommended to use similar films as a guide and experiment. The film strips with the photos taken represent the final result of the development. Afterwards, the negatives can be digitized or prints can be made. Usually, it is also possible to directly order prints of the images in various sizes.

The negatives from the T-Max 3200 can be digitized using a scanner. Professional photo scanners, such as those from Noritsu, achieve the best scanning results. However, there are also scanners for home use in different price ranges. The digitized files can be shared on various social media platforms or produced in printed form.
