What to get for Christmas?

Fujifilm Instax Mini 90
Instant photography is totally trending again, not least because of the Instax cameras. The Instax Mini 90 (Neo Classic) (Amazon) is currently the top model of the Instax Mini series. Its look reminds of the popular X-cameras from Fujifilm, comes with various scene modes, a bulb mode (for long exposures), the ability to create double exposures, and is quite easy to use. More in our detailed review.
The pictures are about the size of a credit card, are freshly produced by Fujifilm and easy to get. A pack of film (Amazon) contains 2 cartridges with 10 instant pictures each.
Fun for the whole family. :)
Fujifilm Instax Mini 8
A slightly cheaper model is the Instax Mini 8, available in pink, yellow, black, and white (Amazon). It comes with similar features as the Instax Mini 90 and is even easier to use. We also have a review of this instant camera on the site.
It also uses Instax Mini films, which are also available with various printed frames (Amazon).
If you don't want a Fuji camera but want to use the same film format, you can now regularly buy the Lomo'Instant (Amazon).

Impossible Films
If you still have an old Polaroid camera, films are available again for some models. The films are produced in the Netherlands in an old Polaroid factory.
Currently offered are instant films for cameras of the SX-70, 600 and Image/Spectra series. For all three formats, there are films for monochrome and color shots. Furthermore, there are various special editions with different frames around the picture. A pack always contains eight pictures and you no longer need to shake the picture.
General Films
Christmas, family, winter, snow – even in winter there is certainly plenty to photograph. So why not stock up on film? Whether medium format or 35mm films, there is still a selection.
For example, the "newcomers" this year from Cinestill and Lomography, e.g., the Lomography LomoChrome Turquoise, which currently can only be pre-ordered.
But also B&W classics like Kodak TRI-X (Amazon) or Delta 3200 (Amazon) fit perfectly into the season.
Poladarium Calendar 2015
To know what season and date it is next year, a calendar is recommended. For example, the Poladarium Calendar (Amazon), available for the fourth time this year. Every day, the tear-off calendar presents a new Polaroid picture with information about the film, photographer, and the creation of the picture.
Notebook
A nice notebook (Amazon) for new photo ideas or noting camera settings and development data.
Books and Photo Books
The leap from notebooks to real books is not far. So why not give a book along with the notebook or calendar? Whether books with concrete tips (Amazon) or classic photo books (Amazon), you can hardly go wrong with a book.
Photos
Lastly, an appeal: bring your photos to paper and share them with the world! Nobody benefits from negatives in the basement and files in folders on some hard drives.
Whether as canvas, postcard, framed, in a nice album, or as a simple print, a photo is one of the most beautiful gifts, especially when the recipient has an emotional connection to the picture.
