Carena 1000 SX

The Carena 1000 SX is a 35mm camera. It was distributed by Photo Porst in Germany in the 90s. This model was built by Cosina. They had a similar model under the name “Cosina C2” on the market.

The lenses of the Carena 1000 SX can be changed. It features a Pentax K lens mount. The lens is focused by hand. The slr does not have an autofocus function.

Photography is made easier by the built-in exposure meter. It is suitable for films with ISO 25 bis ISO 3200. The exposure is measured through the lens. The aperture and shutter speed can be selected by the photographer as desired.

The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. In this mode, the film is exposed as long as the shutter release button is pressed. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe. The Carena 1000 SX has a built-in self-timer and an option to connect a cable release. There is also a thread for a tripod.

The dimensions of the camera are 13,8 x 8,8 x 5,8 cm. It brings 370 grams on the scales. The camera needs two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The Carena 1000 SX exposes 35mm films. The 35mm format is very common, which is why there are still some manufacturers and many development laboratories. The Agfaphoto Vista 200* is a possible color film for the Carena 1000 SX. Black and white images are with the Kodak T-Max 400* possible. Both are great options in combination with the SLR.
